Installing and using Razer Hydra's (EASY)

In this tutorial you learn to setup your Razer Hydra's to use with SteamVR games.

"Before installation, make sure to uninstall "OpenVR Driver for Razer Hydra" from your programs list in Windows! Not doing so can lead to unexpected behaviour." -SteamVR

Installing the Hydra's

First go to Steam and from the application list download and install the drivers: SteamVR Driver for Razer Hydra

Once installed place your hydra's next to your beacon. I found it to work beter if the cables of the beacon point towards you. Fire up your Server and launch Steam VR. Grab your hydras and point them towards your beacon and press both Grip buttons. Now hold the controllers next to your head and press both system buttons.

Put on your HDK and hold the Hydra's infront of you. If you feel the aren't aligned correctly hold them next to your head again and press both system buttons.

If at any point during your playtime the Hydra's become un-aligned repeat the systembutton process. You can adjust your Hydra's at any point during your playtime.

Tip: The range of the Hydra's aren't that great. If you are playing a standing experience it's possible that the controllers start jittering in-game. By placing your beacon on a small box on your desk or something else that raises them higher can solve this problem.
